It was seconds away from the New Year. Tetsurou and I decided to spend it at some neighborhood park festival. Everyone around us was either drunk or getting drunk. The vibe of the New Year getting to everyone as people of all ages start getting pumped up for the countdown. As the seconds tick closer to the 10 second mark, the mass of rowdy people that surround them grow restless. Restless my mind was. Standing next to me: the Nekoma high volleyball team captain, my best friend and of course, my crush. Fighting between nerves and desires, I feel my brain slowly start to fry.

I reach up and grab each ends of the red scarf that hung loosely around his neck jerking his face towards mine.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

I pull my lips away from his, fingers still laced around his scarf, I feel his breath fanning my face. Kuroo must have wrapped his arms around my waist during the kiss. The booming of the fireworks and the jeers from the crowd that surround us, snaps us out of our dazed state. Staring into the cat-like eyes of the gravity-defying bed-headed-kun, I couldn’t help but blush.

I can’t believe I just kissed him!

 I try to pull away but his hold doesn’t slack, he lets out a chuckle and smirks at me.

Oh my glob, I swear I’m staring at the human personification of the Cheshire cat!

‘So… you like me huh?’

His face held such devilries, that I couldn’t help the desires within me vivify an impetuous confidence to exude out of me. Letting out a chortle, I wrap my arms around his neck drawing his face a breath away from mine. Whelps… might as well go all out.

‘No, I just wanted to molest your face.’

Warmth blooms from my cheeks, giggling slightly, I look at Kuroo, he has the power to make my heart beat faster than a hummingbird and stop like a car going 100 miles an hour then suddenly crashing into a wall. I think I…

With a pleased look on his face, he grins at me.

‘I think we should try that kiss again.’

Readjusting his hold around my waist, he lifts me up to him planting a gentle kiss on my lips. Eliciting a moan out of me, he licks my lips and nibbles on my bottom lip… damn, he's an amazing kisser!

Pulling away to breathe, forgetting the shenanigans surrounding us, we lose ourselves within our bubble.

‘Happy New Year, _____-chan.’

Leaning in for another kiss, a familiar voice breaks through our trance.

‘Hey, hey, hey! Happy New Years Kuroo-chan! ____-chan! Getting some I see….’

Turning his face towards the grey haired teen, Kuroo stares blankly at Bokuto.

I didn’t have to look to know what that feeling of dread was.
